Word recently crashed and since then I have not been able to work with the
program. When I launch Word and by pass the Project Gallery I get the
default blank document. I can not type in this document and Word's menus and
toolbars do not function either.

i have two huge lists of autocorrect entries that are formatted as
tables, with the "abbreviation" in the first column and the expanded
text in the second column. the first list has about 7500 entries, the
second list 27000 entires, and each list is a separate word document.

I recently discovered that Word for Mac 2008 cannot cope with ligatures and kerning turned on together.

God morning. When I am trying to open a word document that was sent to me
instead of Word opening to the document it opens to a blank document. If I
open Word and then open the document it works fine.. Any ideas?

I am a network administrator and I have some users Word documents with
pictures inserted into them. These documents are actually a few pages long
but the fact of having pictures caused an enormous growth of these documents,
resulting in a big hard disk waste on the file servers.

So I updated MS Office 2008 few days ago and then Word won't start.  The
Autoupdate Manager comes up, asks me if I want to register, etc, I say
no, then it stops and Word is dead. I had to remove Word and reinstall

I have a Word doc that is 624 KB but only one page long.
Any idea as to why it might be so large? There don't appear to be any

I have word for mac in the student edition and I recently updated the program. After this update I can not longer directly open a word file from the desktop. I can however go into File, then Open and select the document there and it will open. How do I fix this ...

I notice that under Word 2008 the default file format is now .docx, not
.doc.
Can Windows users open the files seamlessly, or is it better tochange

I am looking to use an ISO 690 (or IEEE) Reference format; however, I
was disappointed to find that Word 2008 only supports Chicago, APA,
MLA, or Turabian.  After some reading, I have determined that Word
