I'm trying to import about 40 pages from one document into another.
Trouble is, the formatting goes awry at every attempt.
I've tried all the permutations of 'paste special,' I've tried 'clear
formatting' in the destination document, I've tried 'Insert File,'

Every time I have several documents open on my dual monitor setup my first document remains at the proper zoom level for editing, but my other open documents AUTOMATICALLY RESIZE to very narrow windows (zoomed out) that I do not want. I prefer to have several full size doc windows

I’m supposed to make a PDF with bookmarks out of my master thesis. When printing to PDF or saving to PDF, Word 2008 does’t create bookmarks and the generated pdf is devided to multible pdf’s from every section break.

I have used a windows system for years and the Mac version of windows seems different. Can you set the view to see the entire document so the left and/or right edges of the page are not cut off?
