Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Whenever I open blank word document, some letters already appears in the document. The letters are "dfdfdfvdbbggf". How can I remove these letters so that they won't appear when I open Word document?

I can't seem to get Word 2008 to set a simple single space between lines. The default seems to be double spacing, even though the line spacing is set to single space. The normal setting in the formatting options creates double spaces

I am looking for a plugin or method to automatically identify "be" verbs as I type (is, was, are, were, be, being,been) as I type, so I can make corrections as I go. It wopuld be good if it would just highlight them on the fly - not something such as search and replace.

I can use Format Painter to apply all of my styles except for the Bullet Style. If I use it on my bullet style the style changes. It would be nice to be able to apply the bullet style to my text without it changing on me. Hopefully someone will have a solution.

My better half wrote her thesis a long time ago in what I believe was Ragtime 2.1. How do you convert such a file in this day and age so that all (well, most of) the formatting etc. is intact ? (the text I can get via Textedit).

It appears that some EQ field codes are broken in Word 2008. For example, overstrike {EQ \o} works fine, but fraction {EQ \f } results in a line, but no numerator or denominator, and {EQ \r } just gives an ERROR. Is there any documentation on what field codes still work in Word ...
