Is there a plug in available for opening Word 2007 docx files (made on a PC) in Word 2004 on a mac? The finder can see the files easily but my Word 2004 cannot open the document. This is a simple word file but was made on a PC in Word 2007.

I'm having problems inserting pictures of any kind into a Word 2008
document and any help would be appreciated.
Every file I have tried to insert (JPG,GIF,PNG) has resulted in the

The right and bottom scroll bars have disappeared from my Word documents.  
All other information in the bottom bar is also missing.  The condition has
