Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC When I open up a previoously saved document, the first letter in some of the words has changed. Like December is noe Xember. November is now Povember.

I have removed the Font Cache Tool since Office 2004. Office 2008 hid it a bit better, but I still found it, removed it and now startup is a tad faster - but still way slower than, say, Photoshop CS3 or even the notoriously slow starter Illustrator CS3.

So far, I am quite disappointed with Office 2008. Word and Excel crash repeatedly. The program acts like a beta.
Running on a MacBook Pro, 2gig ram, 30 gig free space on the disk. Open up docx files, such as a 20 pape paper with one graphic in it, and the program crashes. Ran Disk-Utility
