How do I delete a document from the Work Menu in Word 2008?

I have developed a document in Word 2008 that has several charts that were done in Excel 2008. At first, I had no problem printing drafts. Now, I see the graphs in the Word format but can't see them in preview or thumbnail, and they don't print. The space of the charts is left ...

When I remove the checkmark in the “Link to Previous” checkbox in the toolbox of an old or a newly created header (section) in middle of a long document, they remain linked. Is there some other way to achieve it ?
