How to get custom toolbar to dock?04 Feb 2008 09:35 GMT6
Having learned that only custom toolbars would import from 2004 and that my
customized ³Formatting² toolbar would not import, I made a toolbar called
WeyBar with all my pet command on it: Keep with next Para, Default font for
style, update style to fit selected paragraph, and a ...
Format Bullets and Numbering menu not accessible04 Feb 2008 09:32 GMT1
In WORD 2004, in one chapter of the document I'm working on the menu item "Format Bullets and Numbering" is dimmed and the list numbering continues from the previous chapter. I've tried removing the formatting, but the menu item is still dimmed. Why is it not accessible and how can
Cross-referencing in Word04 Feb 2008 08:57 GMT1
Is it possible to cross-reference across several Word documents?
Any way to "arrange all" vertically?03 Feb 2008 23:00 GMT10
In 2004 some kind soul had given me a macro to make the ³Arrange All²
command do something actually helpful and give me two side-by-side document
windows. It¹s the equivalent of the ³arrange vertically² option that Excel
(I hope still!) gives you.
making a font a symbol font03 Feb 2008 22:41 GMT9
I'm running Word2004 on 10.4.11.
I want a music font that I have installed to be recognised among the
symbol fonts instead of as a regular font. When I "insert symbol" Word
gives me a choice of a subset of all my fonts--just the ones that it
A Templated Word Document?03 Feb 2008 15:29 GMT6
Need some suggestions - I'm trying to create a Word document that can
be shared among our staff, for the collection of "content."  This Word
document will allow a web designer to paste in this collected text
into a company newsletter in built in HTML.
Using MathType with Office 200803 Feb 2008 10:47 GMT9
Is MathType compatible with Word 2008?  If so, how do I get the MathType toolbar in Word 2008?
Formatting template gone03 Feb 2008 09:44 GMT1
Just installed Office 2008 on MBP running Leopard. Removed all prior Office debris. All programs OK except Word. There are no menu items on the top except "about" and the formatting palette off to the side shows a yellow triangle relating: "The client cannot be shown because necessary
Direct formatting language setting03 Feb 2008 09:26 GMT2
In an earlier post it was stated that the text was set to irish
(ireland) language by direct formatting and that this was an 'unknown
language' in Word :Mac.
It was suggested that the direct formatting language setting be
Chinese (PRC) Proofing Tools03 Feb 2008 09:15 GMT1
I am in search of Chinese (PRC) Proofing Tools for either Office 2004
or Office 2008 (preferably 2008).
If such a thing exists, please let me know where I can find them.
Thanks, Patrick
Line spacing03 Feb 2008 01:34 GMT11
I am using single line spacing, but when I push the return key it skips two lines like it is creating a new paragraph and not simply moving to the next line.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Can I add a specific font to toolbar?03 Feb 2008 00:02 GMT3
I am pretty clear on how to customize my toolbar.  I have the font
drop-down menu on it but what I would also like to do is have buttons
on the toolbar for my 3-4 most used fonts so that i don't have to
waste time going into the drop-down font menu to choose them.  Is
How do I switch languages in Word for Mac02 Feb 2008 23:57 GMT3
I thought I had managed to permanently change the default language in my
Spell check from English (US) to English (UK); apparently not.
Can you explain to me how I might be able to do that?

mail merge formatting02 Feb 2008 11:59 GMT2
I am doing a mail merge to print a few thousand labels. Is there a way for me to tell the document to SKIP blank fields? For example, if there is no Address Line 2, I don't want a blank line in the merge - I want the City, State & Zip line to move UP.
saving/opening window sizes and positions02 Feb 2008 09:42 GMT1
Is there a way in Word 2008 to save the size and screen position of a document window when you save the document? Word 2004 did this automatically, and when I open Word 2004 documents in Word 2008, the size and screen position are retained. But every new Word 2008 file I save and
