why does formatting changes to highlighted text automatically apply to whole document rather than just the highlighted text? please tell me the setting to change...i'm tired of hitting "undo" once.

.doc from a client, edited it and sent it back to the client, who added

For some reason in microsoft word for mac, when I put *'s around words, the words automatically bold themselves. I do not want this to happen. I've used the help but I can't find what Im looking for.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

With Word 2004, I could click on a footnote or endnote in draft view and have Word take me directly to the bottom of the page so that I could edit the relevant footnote. With Word 2008 I can't. Now I have to go to view, footnotes, then select endnotes. It's very cumbersome. Is there

Whenever I try to boot MS word on my Intel-based mac, it woks fine. However on my sister's user-name, it quits unexpectedly. I read that Word has problems with 3rd party apps, so we disabled all her widgets, but word still crashes. Do I need to delete all here widgets?
