When running on Leopard, Word 2008 and Word/PowerPoint/Excel 2004 may produce blank output for some printers. Microsoft, Apple, and various printer manufacturers are working on this issue but in the meantime, there are a couple of workarounds:

I am a new user (3 days) and, in general, I like WORD. It does a lot but it wants to put stuff I don't want on my screen. I already found out that I have to live with the "Docoment Elements" menu. Now, I want to hide the Status menu on the bottom. The frustrating thing is I think

I have Office 2004. Every time I open a new or existing Word document, it opens with the title bar of the window hidden under the toolbar at the top. How do I stop it from doing that?

I bought the black MacBook for law school earlier this year, and went all out on software, upgrades, etc. I, of course, purchased Word 2004 for school. It has been the worst experience of my computer-related life. And, as Murphy's Law would have it, right after I buy my computer,

| Copying text very slow in Word:mac 2008 | 12 Feb 2008 17:29 GMT | 2 |
When I copy text from Word to place into another app, there is a long delay while Word seems to do a word count and then save something (at the bottom of the window it says "Saving" with a progress bar, but it doesn't seem to be saving the document).
Has anyone else encountered

I just bought Office:mac 2008 last night. I'm trying to write a letter and started with my address, date, their address and salutation - you know - then went right into the first paragraph. It automatically made everything 1.5 or double line spacing except the paragraph. The paragraph

| Can't find the parent folder in the file find dialog box | 12 Feb 2008 12:05 GMT | 1 |
In Word 2004, I do file, then open. I use the search box in the finder window for the folder "our finances". Two folders show up because they happen to exist in two different locations with the same name.
Now it is impossible to determine the parent folder of either of these folders!

Hello,
Everytime I try to embed a "Microsoft Powerpoint Slide Object" into one of my Word 2008 Files through the "Paste Special" command, I just get the error message "There is Insufficient Memory. Save the Document Now." Then nothing gets pasted in.
Considering that I'm running

| Word 2004 will not print | 12 Feb 2008 04:54 GMT | 4 |
I have not been able to print from Word for a while now. Although I have text in the document, I get a blank screen when I go to Print Preview, in both Word and the Mac OS X print dialog. The documents print fine from Windows PCs. Could this be a Leopard compatibility issue? I think

| Pasting and Font | 12 Feb 2008 04:07 GMT | 1 |
I have Office 2004 for Students for Mac. I love it except every time I copy and paste something from a different program, for example the internet, the text pasted is in the font Lucinda. It doesn't matter where I copy text from, it always pastes as Lucinda. My default font is Arial.

| Setting View Toolbars as default | 12 Feb 2008 03:59 GMT | 1 |
I want to see the Standard, Formatting and Reviewing toolbars in every doc I create or open, but cannot figure how to do this. Everything seems to be on a "per doc" basis. The Standard and Formatting toolbars are set to always be checked and appear, but I can't make this happen universally
