I am creating a catalog using Word's mail merge. Source document is a tab delimited file (using Mac's Text Edit). The Source document includes a header at the top. It seems that when merging, Word doesn't recognize the carriage return between the header and the first record. Since

Hi, I upgraded from Office 2004 to 2008 and after doing so the title of the formatting palette in Word 2008 appears in Japanese rather than English. As far as I can tell this is the only title/palette/window where this happens. I live in Tokyo and speak and write in Japanese using

Spaces is virtually unusable with Office 2008. Docxs snap back instead of staying in assigned Spaces. Notebook views are a particular problem. A serious disappointment...

...and neither am I! I installed Office 2008 for Mac last Friday. None of my clients can open documents created in Word 2008 with the .docx suffix. Re-saving the documents to 2004/2007 (eg the .doc suffix) makes absolutely no difference. I am having to send out PDFs while I fix this.
