I've reinstalled the app, thrown out the prefs, but to no avail. Excel
+ Powerpoint dead also. But Entourage still works.
Any Suggestions?

I have hundreds of forms that contain data in the form fields that I need to
convert into a database.  I have figured out how to save the contents of a
form field to a text file, but haven't figured out how to remove the hard
carriage returns present within many of the fields.

I'm trying to create labels with Word Office X in OS 10.3.9.  Word freezes
every time when I open the data file. It says it is 'analyzing'.  
I've tried importing Excel, Word and plain text  files.  Each record has three
fields separated by tabs and ending in returns.

is there any way to drastically shorten the fonts that are listed in
my Word (from latest version of Office 2004). Or better put: is there
a way to get Word to not read all of my fonts on my Mac? I'd like it
to only list and use about a dozen. Any special way to do this?

I was quite proficient in  MS Word for Windows, but I have lots of
problems with  Word for Mac.  For example, I created without problem a
simple macro in the Windows version for pasting unformatted text. To
create the macro, I would simple record the sequence of clicking on

I have a 10 page doc. I want a watermark on each page that changes
each time I print the doc.  I'd prefer to use the recipient's name as
the watermark, but I'd settle for a unique number. Is there an easy
way to do this? I'm trying to make sure that the recipient does not

I'd like to turn off the preference that tries to guess words,
especially names, while I'm typing.
I can't seem to find it under preferences. Any ideas?

I am working with Word 2007.  Out of 14 figures in my document, only 8 appear
in the inserted list of figures.  Figures 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, and 14.  
Figure 1 does not appear in my list of figures when inserting a cross
reference.  And I can't figure out how to insert a list of ...

When you open a 'new document' I would like a completely blank
document to appear.  Instead the last file saved always is displayed.
I can clear it but it won't let me delete it.  Any help?

1st column. I want to sort by last name and know how to do it I think.
Under table, select sort, and sort by column 1 and options. Then

I have a 30 page document.  I would like the first page not be numbered and
the next 4 pages be numbered in roman from 1-4 and then the numbering should
start from 1 in normal format in the next page onwards.  I have tried using

My standard toolbar has disappeared completely. I check it off on
VIEW/TOOLBARS, but it does not show. I have gone to Customize and
