renumbering footnotes31 Oct 2006 22:28 GMT1
I am writing a dissertation and my footnotes are not renumbering after
a delete one.  Instead, they are staggered, going from, say, footnote

Printing from a Microsoft notebook31 Oct 2006 22:13 GMT6
I used to be able to print my daily notes for my boss, with no problem.
At a certain point ( with no discernible action on my part) the notes
still looked perfectly fine, but the result from printing divided the
page of text in half, giving me two pages.
The Axial Effect31 Oct 2006 21:24 GMT1
Following a question raised on a professional forum I belong to (I'm a
translator), I believe I may have hit upon a peculiar issue with
Microsoft Office spellchecking tools for the Spanish language. As it
turns out, if you mistype the Spanish word "asi" (meaning thus, this
On-screen page breaks change with Zoom setting30 Oct 2006 20:48 GMT4
Is it expected behavior for the location of on-screen page and column breaks

I have a two-column document that prints on one page.
However, in Page Layout view, whenever the screen zoom setting is less than

mail merge problem30 Oct 2006 11:19 GMT15
I have an excel database that I'm using in an envelope mail merge in

the merge there seems to be a space before the first name in the
entries that don't have titles (ie. (space)John Smith).  There's no

I use MS Word on my Mac and have never had a problem until now.
Here's the problem:  I can launch the program, but when I try to open a

the program is not responding.  I've restarted a bunch of times to no
Office X, Office 2004 Test Drive30 Oct 2006 04:05 GMT6
I just bought a new intel Mac.  It's come with a test drive of Office
2004.  I am already using Office X.  I've installed my old Microsoft
Office X on my new computer.  Any reason to upgrade to 2004?  Seems
like a lot of problems go with it.  Any time I open a document now, it
How do I simply TURN OFF page numbers????30 Oct 2006 02:50 GMT1
Is it just me, or does Microsoft make things REALLY hard to find in
this software?  I just simply want to TURN OFF the page numbering.
I've just spent the better part of half an hour (wasted, that is)
looking in Help, online, and everywhere I can find in this stupid thing

I've created a table specifying all the properties in Word for Mac
2004.
Since I use the format for this particular table frequently, I've tried
without success to create a macro for it.
Word Pallette28 Oct 2006 23:58 GMT4
Using Office 2001, in Microsoft Word, when the pallette is shown, and
the Font arrow is selected and the Font menu is brought down, there is a
section on top for the name of the Font that is in use.  This is handy
