Word document opening too large on my screen05 Sep 2006 22:17 GMT1
Hi, whenever I open Word, the document opens too large on my screen.
Each time I have to adjust it to make it the size I want it. Is there
some way to have it open to the size I want every time? I tried
changing the Normal template with no success. Thanks.
Language defaults05 Sep 2006 16:11 GMT2
Whenever I paste text from any other application (Mail, Safari, etc)
into Word 2004 (version 11.2, run under 0S 10.4), it changes the
default language on my Normal template to Eng (US) even though my
Normal template is set up with Eng (UK). Is this a bug or is there
Spelling US v UK05 Sep 2006 15:17 GMT8
Whatever the custom dictionary in preferences says (ie that the
spelling tool is UK English), when it comes to spell check it's a US
dictionary.
Can anyone suggest why this is, and how to rectify it?
Headers in the left margin04 Sep 2006 17:09 GMT2
I recall seeing something about this but can't find the information.
On some legal documents, I have seen the law firm name, address, etc.
printed in the left margin of a page, about 3/4 of the way down the

When bullets become spades....03 Sep 2006 14:32 GMT3
Somehow, the 'spades' symbol has become the default bullet. Any
document I open with bullets (including PowerPoint files) now show the
spade dingbat where the standard bullet should be.
How can I change this back?
restoring deleted fonts03 Sep 2006 14:29 GMT13
Elliot R., thanks for taking the time--I went through all the steps,
though, and the result was the same at the end: I clicked on the chosen
.ttf font, and nothing happened. No "install" dialogue box. In fact,
when I clicked on the font, it had the effect of fading the screen, the

can't adjust or resize toolbar01 Sep 2006 18:05 GMT3
This may be the dumbest. toolbar. question. ever.
I accidentally made a toolbar vertical, but I need it horizontal.
I'm grabbing the lower left hand corner to no avail.
I'm on Word 2004 on a Mac running 10.4.7.
Continuing table titles01 Sep 2006 14:53 GMT3
My dissertation style handbook requires that when tables continue
across a page, both the Table Number (with continuted) and the column
spanners (headings) be repeated at the top of the next page. I've
formatted all of the titles as captions above the table (so I can auto
