I've removed and reinstalled Word 2004 for Mac from Office 2004 disc. All

Working on a PC with Office 2000, there was always an option to "embed"
fonts when saving a document. My clients would receive documents I had
created containing font characters that weren't loaded onto their computers,

I am trying to create a mail merge document in Word 2004 using
Entourage data.  Putting together a family reunion and need to send
e-mails to each person showing what data I have for each person/family.
In the Merge Field drag and drop I don't see "Children" field and

Can anyone help me figure this out. Whenever I copy to side-by-sde
charts in Excel, and then paste in Word only the left-most chart
actually appears. I can see the handles around the right-most chart,
but it will not display, show uo in print preview, or print. The result

The added info can be removed if i deselect in view, toolbars, standard
and formating.  Then close the doc and reopen it.  the original doc
appears.  What makes this happen and how can I get rid of it?

I'm working on a one page document. I've set it up with two side
borders and two columns. That's fine to a point. But, I want the bottom
third of the page to revert back to a full page/no-column format while
still retaining the borders.

Is it preferable to create one long file for a 30 chapter/250 page
book?  Or is it better to create a master document?  I'd like to
paginate, index, etc., before sending it to the publisher but I'm a
novice user.

Can someone recommend a book which will help me assemble the book I've
written which consists of one document per chapter?  I'm a novice Word
user, but I'd like to be able to paginate, create an index, etc.,

WORD WORK files appearing since 11.2.6 update15 Sep 2006 21:35 GMT3
WORD WORK files have been appearing for every Word file I have opened
since 11.2.6 update.  But they are not resolving and disappearing when
I close word.
Any advice?

I'm using a heading style that uses Word's automatic numbering. It the
first section of my document, I could control+click on the numbering
and select "restart numbering" when I needed it to go from 1 again. But
in the third section, the "restart numbering" tool has no effect.

I work in a group of Windows users who cannot always cope with straing
MS Word files, so I save my word files routinely as .rtf. Lately, these
files cannot be reopened. I get a message "file corrupted".  Once I

Is there any logic in the way Word 2004 shows the reviewing toolbar when
you turn Track Changes on? Just because I want to record the changes I'm
making doesn't mean I want to review the changes that are there. Can
Word be prevented from doing this? Does it require a macro?

I am using textboxes in a Word document. Everything is working fine except
that everytime I do open my document, I have to Exit Design Mode.
Is there a way to be automatically NOT into Design Mode when opening an
existing document ?
