| Word 2004 normal.dot default styles missing | 26 Sep 2006 10:18 GMT | 18 |
I'm wondering whether I need to uninstall and reinstall Office 2004 on OS X 10.4.7. For a new document based on NORMAL.DOT, the only style displayed in Word's toolbar is "Normal." When I open Format>Style, I see only the following: Default Paragraph Font, No List, Normal, and

| Default Paragraph Font | 26 Sep 2006 10:10 GMT | 21 |
This is the sort of basic point that I used to understand, but I'm obviously getting more stupid in my old age. Please bear with me. My Normal style currently has a font of Bookman Old Style, 12 point. I have defined a Quotation style, which is based on Normal, but

| Can't mix fonts "inside" one word | 24 Sep 2006 18:58 GMT | 11 |
The front part of my client's name is "Laser" and the back part is "Save". Laser uses ITC Garamond regular. Save uses ultra italic. I'm running Word X (latest update) in OSX.3.9. When I mix those two fonts in LaserSave, it prints with what looks like a word space between

| Overstrike for diacritics | 24 Sep 2006 02:33 GMT | 2 |
I used to use overstriking ( ".\o(x,^)" ) to get special non-English letters in Word documents. Now when I do this with "{ EQ \o(x,^) }", Word thinks it can break the line after the overstrike stuff, even though another ASCII character immediately follows it. This means that

Is it possible to save the window properties of the office window on startup. For example, I want to set the default size and position of the window, so whenever I create a new blank document, the window opens up with my default specs?

| hyphenation / line breaks --basic q. | 23 Sep 2006 05:34 GMT | 2 |
This should be easy to remedy, but I can't find the answer in the "help" guide. My standard template for Word is now set up to never break words -- i.e., all lines end at the end of a complete word. I'd like to have
