how do I insert files which are WMF in such a way that I can edit in the word
document (not as embedded object).  Used to be able to do that in previous
versions of word, but now I cant seem abe to. I am runing word 2002.
I have tried insert as a picture, as an object then file, ...

I have just moved to Office 2003 on my Windows PC at work and was
playing around with the option to save as XML rather than doc format.
There were a few queries sprang to mind.

I was working on my imac using Microsoft Word. I had 3 toolbars open at
the top of my screen. Somehow I managed to move one of them up behind
my bar that has File, Edit, View, etc. on it.  I tried resetting my

I've been happily hacking away with MS Word 2004 for Mac for some time

I attached a global template to my document and when I tried to use one of
the autotext buttons, I got the following error message: "The macro cannot be
found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings."
I even closed everything down and reopened, but it did not ...

Document ofrmatted in Word for PC Office 2003 when opened in Mac Office 2004 Word puts spaces between the titel font reformatting spacing in a text box.
No setting I have found solves the re-format issue.  Pages of Mac OS X opens the original PC doc fine.

I install fonts into the Font Book, and they are available for
applications like Pages, but word doe not show the font as a choice in
the Fonts List.  I tried pasting some text in the "missing" font into a
Word document - it pastes, the label of the highlighted font is the

I recently upgraded to Word 2003, and I cannot seem to turn off the
option to "warn when saving, printing, etc. documents that contain
tracked changes".  I go into Tools/Options/Security, and uncheck the
box.  It will stay unchecked as long as I don't close Word.  However, I

i just raised a question about setting footnote in more than two columns in a
single page; however, the solution suggested were all effective if there are
two or more columns text bodies. But in my case, there is only one text body.
i'd like to know how this problem can be solved ...

I created a file that I need to send to different people, some on MAC and
some on PC. I also needed to configure some macros.
Strangely, the macros are not transferred with the file. When I created
them, I made sure that they were being assigned to the file itself and not
