NUMBERING DOES NOT RESTART WHEN I SEND A WORD FILE TO PC14 May 2006 22:07 GMT6
My problem relates to a document with chapters where paragraphs are numbered
within each chapter and restart when the appropriate level restarts.  The
document works fine in Word 2004 (version 11.2.3) but, when it goes to a PC
(usually running XP with Word 2003 (I think)), the ...
Word Endnotes - the last word.14 May 2006 20:13 GMT4
I have occasion to write papers which require an endnote AND a
bibliography, with the latter supposed to be last (i.e. following the
endnote).  Word Insert Footnote/Endnote is great except, that I can't
seem to get it to let me place a page after the endnotes.  Is there a
Pictures in Word document14 May 2006 19:21 GMT12
I am working on an extensive Word document that I subdivided into
subdocuments.  Each subdocument contains a fair amount of pictures (.jpg
encoded). It seems that I may be doing something not quite right since the
pictures do not remain at the specific location where I put it.  This ...

I have several long Word documents (50 to 100 pages) that I would like
to split (save as) into many separate docs (files).
I have a Heading 1 at the start of what I would like to be the start of
each new doc.
Using Outline Question14 May 2006 05:22 GMT5
It's a rainy Saturday morning and I've decided to tackle my confusion about
outline view and header styles. (Which has meant tackling first the
confusion about how to sign up for newsgroups... )
I'd like to use outline more than I do, but really dislike the Header Styles
Reformatting cross references13 May 2006 21:46 GMT6
I'm looking for a method to globally reformat cross reference numbers
from roman to arabic within a document. I can reformat the actual
reference numbers, but the cross references don't seem to be as easy.
TIA,
Style selection oddity13 May 2006 19:06 GMT4
Howdy,

Formatting index entries13 May 2006 06:38 GMT4
I am polishing a 700+ page geneaology project for a client. In
generating the index, I am finding that the names are being
alphabetized by first name as marked. Makes sense, but I need it to
reverse to:
Section break oddity13 May 2006 04:49 GMT2
Documents I prepare require that major sections start on odd pages. If it is
necessary to have a blank page inserted to do this, the blank page should be
unnumbered.  So before each major section I insert a Section Break (odd
page). Works like a charm, EXCEPT when I want to restart ...

I've done some posting lately and gotten good responses and I almost
have a workable template for my needs.. but I have suddenly been

Word file busy errors12 May 2006 12:44 GMT5
When Mac OS X 10.4.6 was released I upgraded the users (and our Mac OS X
FileServer) to that version so as to benefit from the fix to the "Word - Too
many files open" error that plagued Network Home Directory users. This
indeed did fix that problem.
Booklet Making12 May 2006 00:08 GMT4
I would like to take our current church bulletin, which is 5 pages,
landascape orientation, 2 columns, and have it printed in booklet
format so my secretary does not have to 'cut and paste' it together.

Corrupt Fonts in Word 200411 May 2006 19:06 GMT1
I installed Office 2004 onto 20 eMacs, all running Tiger, back in
December. Each of these installs was done with the same installation
CD. My students log onto the network using network directory services
before starting the application (which is running locally). Every
