I have never used apple computers before, but after getting mine had a
"30 day trial" for the word processor. Does this mean my computer did
not just come with a word processor???? I have never heard of such a
thing. Is there a word processor elsewhere on my computer or do I have

In Cocoa apps and most Carbon apps as well, command + forward delete
deletes the word following the insertion point. In Word, this does
nothing. Is there a way to assign this key to a shortcut to delete the
word following the insertion point?

Al last I have found out about the background of some problemas with
incorrectly actualizing crossreferences in Word 2004:
If you have markers at the beginning of paragraphs, moving ore pasting

I need to be able to insert powerpoint graphics into word documents
that retain their powerpoint information and can be edited with
powerpoint.  Although it was clumsy I was able to do this in my last
version of office.  I upgraded and appear to have lost this ability.

Recently, whenever I open a document in Microsoft Word, whether an
existing or new document, a blank "window" appears on the lower half of
the document.  I wish I could post a picture of it, but I cannot so
I'll describe the window:

I upgraded from a G4 to an iMac G5 recently and copied the Microsoft
applications from one computer to another. I recently realized that
spell check wasn't working and get the message that "proofing tools are
not installed". Well I did see them in the Shared Applications>Proofing

Folder:Preferences: Microsoft Custom Dictionary is not available.

Hello and please help!
I am trying to make an index for a ca. 300 page document.  I made a
concordance file, applied it to the document, and created an index.
But, I was unable to hide the field codes - I could not get them to

OK folks here is one I have never experienced before

When I receive an email from a word user the contents are all squares and
lines. I have checked the Internet options FONT function and it is set
properly. I have reloaded Word and still not working. Any suggestions?

I'm running Mac Word v.X, with SP1 installed, in OS 10.3.4.
Word Preferences have not been changed in years.
For the past week or so, all Word documents open in Page Layout view,
regardless of how they were created or saved. I never use this view, so
