I'm attempting to create a document that will have both paragraph text
and several tables containing text.  Is there anyway around Word's
stated inability to number the lines in tables as well?

I've been having file retrieval and saving problems with both these
applications. Both programs are unbelievably slow in retrieving files
or saving the "as" on a Mac G5. This is a relatively new problem.

In office 2004, how can I turn off the Adobe Acrobat PDF Maker Toolbar when
I open Word?
I can¹t find it in prefs and the view menu always shows it on with an arrow.

OSX allows me to save a printer profile that calls my printer's duplex
('print to both sides') feature.  The toolbar print button insists on using
the old printer setup, even though the File menu 'Print...' selection now
uses the duplex setup by default.

For reasons unknown to me, both standard and custom rulers now block
the tops of all my documents. It used to be the docs would
automatically moved down to make way for the rulers. No longer. Since

I have a hard time with the thesaurus sometimes.  Instead of giving me
the synonyms of a word that I KNOW is there, it will give me the
dialogue box Reference Tools instead.  If I try to access the thesaurus

I am currently using Word 2000. When I try to change fonts from Normal
to Italic by using Find and Replace while tracking changes are enabled
it does the change but the wrong way around. A line is drawn through
the word with Italic fonts and the Normal fonts are underlined. It

My intention is to create a letterhead <.dot> that looks like printed
letterhead. I read through the instructions for the watermark but there
is a missing component here in my MS Word 2004 application. When I
bring up the Background menu there is no "Washout" section to click or

I just installed the new Microsoft ofc 2004 Education Version in my new
Mac Mini. Suddenly, I can't paginate. There is no "page number" command
under the "insert" bar. Where did it go? I've actually run into this
before. Any suggestions?
