I've used the Data Merge Manager before--with various documents. Now when I open a form document that I've created before, the Data Merge Manager is checked--which means that it should be visible. But it's nowhere to be seen.

After playing about with wildcard search with mack's three space problem, my v.X has given up on {m,n} style match counts. It appears to use {1} regardless of the values of m and n. e.g if the file contains "buggered", ug{1,}e fails.

In word 2004, I have three spaces between sentences and I need two spaces only. In Find and Replace, I used "any letter" from the special character menu then "full stop". This found the full stops at the end of words.

Foolish act #1 was installing 983 shiny new fonts along with upgradin to Tiger. Assumed the "disable" feature in Font Book 2 would grant mor control, ease of use and management of all these wonderful fonts. So wh not dop on tons of fun fonts?

Office 2004. Might be a stupid question, but what's the easy to convert a document to plain text. I've tried saving as plain text, but I still get a somewhat formatted document. I want to strip all the MS code from it.

I have had this issue going back through several versions of Office (possibly even pre-Office X), on a number of different machines. I have at least one friend who has the same frustration, and we've never mixed any software on our machines.
