I have word 2004 for mac installed. When I input text vis the keyboard it often takes up to a second to appear on screen, sometimes longer. Does anybody have any idea why. Sorry if this has been brought up before, I have only just joined this group.

In Word 2004 Mac, there is no way to create a new autotext entry because the "new" choice within "Insert\Autotext" is permanently greyed out. Microsoft's knowledge base article 288431 acknowledges the problem and suggests several fixes, none of which worked for me.
