I've installed MAC OS 10.3 and m./soft office 2004 which is great.
One question - when I go to save a document in word 2004, it only
saves in old word 98 version (which is still on my computer as I have
os 9 available as classic)

It¹s great that Office 2004 offers Unicode. I wonder when Office will have
OpenType support as well. So far all I can see is InDesign and Mellel
supporting OpenType ­ so if I get anything in Word that needs those extra
glyphs I have to set them all in InDesign.

I am having problems saving files in Word X as a pdf. I select the pdf
maker icon in my word program, the process begins but hangs up about
2/3 way through. I have tried both the pdf icon and the pdf & e-mail
icon. I have already checked my computer's pdf making abilities and

When I produce Postscript files for PDF documents in either Word X or
Word 2004, the font size will shrink. For instance, 11 point type
becomes 10.8 point type in the resulting PostScript. I do not experience
this with other programs. Is there any way to specify exact type sizes

is there an add-on that allows Word 2004 to open Wordperfect
documents, or is that support already built in?

A few weeks ago I complained to this group about getting OLE bookmarks every
time I copied or dragged and dropped text within a document.
I have discovered that the problem is in fact a bug on my Mac - I whinged to
someone else about this feature, and he did not have the same ...

Word v.X crashes consistently when I Quit the application.  It also
crashes when I save some word files imported from other machines, but

I work in 'Normal View' 95% of the time. Currently, files that I open are
opening in Page Layout view and I'm having to change them to Normal View. I
think the default has always been 'Normal View' and I'd like to get back to

I belong to an organization where 10 of our officers need to
communicate frequently by e-mail.  When our president sends a word
2004 for mac doc as an attachment 7 of us can open it.  the other
three with windows versions just get the ascci code but they can not

I am having a problem opening up invoices that were created when I had
Office X¹s version of Word, now that I have Office 2004¹s version of Word.
