I am using a new dual-core MacBook amd when I try to launch WMP from a web
page I get the "missing plug-in is needed" message and am unable to run the
player. Search for plug-in comes up empty and Flip for Mac doesn't work.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Just happen to come across this site and have a query maybe somebody
can help, recently i just installed my wmp and flip4mac, i receive the
u/m message while loading video,

I am VERY new to Mac (just got it last week). I have installed both Flip4Mac
and WMP 9.  I can get videos to work off cnn.com (via quicktime) but I cannot
get them to work off tsn.ca.  I get an alert message telling me "URL is not
valid" message from quicktime.  

After i've installed Media Player 11 and start to play MP3's, if i insert a
CD or DVD into my drive i can't view the files. However if i close Media
Player 11 and then re-insert the CD or DVD windows explorer can view the
files with no problems.

I'm setting up my new computer and when I go to Windows Media Player Version
10, Napster is on the WMP screen.  What do I do to prevent it from coming on.
I never intend to use Napster.

I have downloaded, unstuffed and used the Installer to install Windows Media
Player 9 onto my iMac. However, when I click on media links at CNN.com (and
other web sites) the media files don't open. Instead I get a pop-up window
that says CNN.com is optimized for Windows Media ...

They Fricken fixed it! I sent them an email with your advice and it
works now.  Dont know for sure if it was in response to my email
because they never replied, but within 2 weeks it was fixed and it
