I followed all instructions to burn mp3's to a cd.  I chose data cd and hit
burn.  I get a brief message, "burn in progress" and then get another
message, "there are no items on the cd," and then nothing happens.  Any help
would be appreciated.

OK.. so I downloaded flip4mac Quicktime components and now I can play my wma
music files on my mac.
Now I want to burn my wma songs to  a music CD , and I can't do this using
iTunes because iTunes doesn't recognize .wma
