I read today that Microsoft will no longer continue development or support
Windows Media Player for MAC. Did you guys not just watch how Apple just got
the lion's share of the mp3 player market?

After downloading this 12 times during the night, I still can't get it to
Install. When I open the Innstaller it puts a new file on my desktop namd.
Windows Media.sitx.1 and it just launches TextEdit.
How can I do anything with it? I don't think I want it for web browsing,

I've gone to Mactopia and attempted to download WMP 9 for Mac.  When
trying to open the Windows Media .sitx (which appeared on the desktop
after download), I get the following message:

i have 10.4.3 installed with windows media player 9 and i have been
able to watch and listen to wmv fine untill all of the sudden no wmvs
will play now.  even the sample one microsoft gives you wont play.  i
have rebooted and reinstalled. any ideas

  I live in the U.S. and am trying to access Italian Language iideo
programming from Italy:  news, weather, etc.
  When I search inside Windows Media Player, I only find "feeds" in
English about Italy.

macosX Windows Media Player is not able to read .wmv that use WMV3 codec. I
haven't found a solution to that problem.

No sound when playing a burnt or original cd or dvd - mute button off - will
play sound from internet. Dvd will play sound when played through Power DVD?

Hi, i am just wondering - Has anyone figured out how to completely remove WMP
9 for Mac OS X yet?  It didn't do what I wanted it to, now I would like it to

the Windows Mediaplayer 9 for Mac OS X plays videos outside of the safari
window (Safari 2.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.4.3). Can videos be played also within
safari? The same applies to audio.
