I've never been able to play WMV files properly on my Mac at home. I'm
running a G4 9.2.2; when I try to play a WMV file, the application
opens, but I'm lucky if I can see about a third of the content. I

I am attempting to install Windows Media Player for
Macintosh OS X on my Power Mac G4 computer.  Each time I
download the WMP file from the MSN Download Center, a
Windows Media.sitx document appears on the desktop.  When

Can't seem to install WMP 7.1.
It freezes every time I try the installation at 'items remaining to be
installed: 95' even with extensions off.

I get a message that says "you need to upgrade to wiindows media player 9 to
play this file"
so i did, and i installed it, and rebooted, and I still get the message.
I checked the library but I have no plis that says media player.

Pls Help...I have a G-5 with Panther. WMP was operating fine until yesterday.
Now when I try to open WMP the ICON in the doc bounces and shows the
options...show in finder...hide...force quit as if the program is running but
no windows open. Also double clicking on a WMV movie ...

I recently helped a friend install WMP 7.1 for Mac OS 8.6 ... when we try
to view a webpage with a .wmv video we get a whole bunch of gobbly-gook.
My experience is only with PC, so I would be very grateful for any help

Whenever I watch a preview on Netflix WMP freezes about half way through the
clip. I have seen similar behavior watching other videos.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the player and I still have the problem.
Any ideas what is happening and how I can fix it?

I have an archive of WMA Lossless audio files on an NTFS formatted external
drive that I am trying to use on a new G5 with latest MacOS patches.
WMP will not play the files yet the blurb states that WMA Lossless is
supported.
