Why can't I play AVI files? Quicktime will play the audio but no video...WMP

Does MP9 for OSX support only some of MS's WMV files? I often get the
message when trying to view Windows media streaming files "Windows
Media Player cannot play this file, because the Player does not support this
format."

web radio stations through ComFm. As of today I get alternating error

When I tried to open an internet video using the Link provided, the video
didn't show using the WMP, but instead an address ended with ...wmv
appeared on the page.
Please anyone has the solution ?

Most of the websites I go to with WMV says I cannot view live feed
videos because i do not have a MIME plug in for my Mac osx. Can
anyone help?

When I click on a Windows Media Player playlist on the car
talk web site, it plays only the first entry in the
playlist. However if I create a new file in a different
format then it will work properly.

When playing a large video there is a long delay when I
jump ahead to a later portion of the video. Is this a

Does the latest Mac player support the same methods and properties as the Windows player? In particular - is the CurrentPosition properyt supported. I have web page code that uses that property - it works ok on PC/Windows but not Mac

I downloaded Microsoft Windows media player 9 for my iMac
OS X and I still couldn't play a simple video attachment in
a newsletter. Any help, I even called Apple support and
they told me it would work with media player 0.

When I want to watch a movie file frmae by frame, I cannot use arrow
keys to go back and forth. I can do so with QT Player. My system is
Windows ME. What's wrong? Is there anyway I can fix this problem?

Powerbook 17" G4. Internet Explorer 5.2.3. WMV 9. When I click on
links that go to .wmv or .asf files, I get a huge text item displayed
in the browser window of IE and no video or download..... What is it
that I need to do to make WMV 9 work with IE 5.2.3 in OS X? I know
