Good Linux distros for VPC?16 Nov 2005 22:06 GMT2
I'm running VPC 7 on a G5 Mac.  I tried installing Fedora Core Linux
for x86 on VPC and got only crashes.  Some hunting online shows that
this is a known issue with that distro -- there are some tweaks that
could fix it, but they're all a bit too daunting for me.  I just want
VPC7 upgrade disaster16 Nov 2005 19:47 GMT2
Today I upgraded a reliable VPC6.1 installation to VPC7 and met with
disaster at every turn!  To begin with, the software went on OK but
then I tried to import my VPC6 environment.  This flashed an error
message and appeared frozen when I loaded VPC7.  I kept playing with it

About 2 months ago I bought an IMac 2 Ghz with 1 gig of memory and

Power Mac also with 1 gig of ram.  Does anyone have experience running
Compatibility with PC versions of programs that exist for both PC and Mac15 Nov 2005 01:05 GMT7
I understand that VPC allows you to run PC-only programs. But what
about programs for which there exist both a Mac and a PC version, would
it allow me to run the PC version? I am a graduate student and all
programs made available for free by my university are for PC. So could

After installing VPC7 in 10.3.8, VPC put an item into the Dock. Even

background?

I have a copy of Virtual PC only (no OS included).  I also have the
retail version of XP Home SP2 installed on a PC box.  Can I keep my PC
installation and use the CD to install XP home to Virtual PC for the
mac? I would only be using 1 copy at a time.
Running SQL Server 2000 using Virtual PC 711 Nov 2005 20:35 GMT1
This probably sounds crazy, but I was wondering if anyone has tried

Am learning SQL Server 2000 and was considering running it on my Dual
