I've searched and fiddled for hours, but cannot solve this:
I have Virtual PC 7.0.2, Mac OS X (10.4.2).
I have re-installed the VPC update, repaired permissions, restarted, created
a fresh PC from my Win XP Pro CD. I have tried turning firewalls (in Mac OS

I have a Dual 2.7 Powermac G5.
Will VPC run faster on a QUAD Powermac G5 2.5?
That is, will VPC *USE* the 4 processors?

Hi, I have VPC 7.02 with Win XP Pro running on Tiger 10.4.2. My
Powerbook is connected to an Airport Express which is running a DHCP
server as is also my Dell with XP Pro.
My Virtual PC connects to the internet fine; I can browse the net using

I purchased Virtual PC for Mac, version 7 and tried to upload it to my
IMac G-5 (10.4.1).  However, after the first CD finished loading, this
message appeared:   "Virtual Switch Networking could not be started.
Permissions for the support files were set correctly, but virtual

i am trying to join my school's domain so i need to use VPC 7 to join
in a domain so i followed the steps in Microsoft knowledge based ID

I installed these on my new eMac about a month ago . . . and I had to
force quit a few times and cannot start Windows at all.
Would it be best to upgrade to VPC 7.0; or delete this Windows 2000
altogether and get a newer Windows program.

I'm trying to install Linux using the redhat 4 installer cds. VPC resets
itself with a processor exeption during initial load of the installer.

My company wants us to use a program that runs on Windows XP through a
VPN. I am the only MAC user in the company and would like to keep it
that way. I would like to know if I can use VPC with Windows XP and use

I have to say...Virtual PC is a pathetic program.  Not only is it slow,
the most damnable part of installing ANY version of Windows is the time
it takes to update the OS.  I typically have to wait 20-30 minutes for

Hope that someone might be able to help/clarify things for me.
