Problem setting up/printing w/ VPC718 May 2005 14:22 GMT2
Can anyone assist with this issue?  A friend of mine mentioned that
there might be a 'printer addition'?  Never heard of this.  Prints fine
on the Apple side of things, but when in VPC running XP Pro, I cannot
print.

I am well versed in the topics surrounding Virtual Switch--
The problem I am having is that clean builds of XP Pro or XP Pro SP2
under Shared Networking are not transiting IP:
Can't ping the gateway or beyond.

I've installed and set up VPC 7.01 with XP, and established an internet
connection using shared networking (ADSL, PPoP, home connection so no
proxy). Network CP shows there is a connection, and most sites connect
with no problem. Certain sites, however, such as nytimes.com or

According to www.macwindows.com, VPC's virtual switch isn't the only app
having networking problems with Tiger.
They even reported that there is a <gasp>bug</gasp> in Tiger's kernel.

I tried to update virtual pc 7 to 7.0.1 but it is asking for me to
insert my cd to continue the update. It figures i cant find the sucker
so everytime i  start it up it asks to continue the update. how can i
get rid of this and continue with 7.0 it works fine for me. or finish
