Virtual PC/Windows XP ==-> VERY Noisy Mac19 Mar 2005 14:54 GMT5
All,
I have recently installed Virtual PC/Windows XP on my Mac G5 and the
applications appear to be working fine.
However, I have a question.  Whenever I have Virtual PC/Windows running
TuneUp Utilities 200419 Mar 2005 14:10 GMT7
I believe I read someone post recently that they use "TuneUp Utilities"
with VPC. If so, can you give more details. Such as, have you used all
the features in this program? Which VPC version (including which
Windows OS) do you use it with? Etc.
Aaaaahhhhhh  PLEASE HELP19 Mar 2005 09:07 GMT2
For some very strange reason VPC has suddenly stopped working properly for
me!!!!!!
At work it works 100% perfectly and I can connect to the internet and
everything.
updating a computerized sewing machine19 Mar 2005 07:43 GMT1
I need some advice before I finally throw in the towel and realize I
spent alot of $$ for nothing. I recently purchased a Husqvarna
computerized sewing/embroidery machine with a USB port. Of course I can
only access version software updates and utilize software programs with
What do you need to upgrade? I may be hosed19 Mar 2005 00:53 GMT1
I bought a G5, skipped VPC6, moved 6 months ago & now want to upgrade
to VPC7, but I seem to have lost the box & documentation. Still have
the discs for what little that may be worth. Microsoft, of course,
seems to have no way to retrieve license info on-line or by phone
G5 display settings make vpc faster18 Mar 2005 23:58 GMT1
I may be imagining this, but I set my monitor color settings to
"millions" from "thousands" and VPC XP Pro seems much snappier!
Could it be that vpc was wasting time with resetting the color lower?
Incidentally the resolution was (and is) set to 1280 x 1024.
Printing with HP OfficeJet G5518 Mar 2005 21:57 GMT1
I have a imac G5 with 10.8.3 and VPC 7. Once VPC was installed, the HP
printer won't work at all with VPC (except once it printed a test page
- cannot remember how I got it to do that). I have VM Additions as my
default printer. On the Mac side, print jobs look like it they are
General Protection Fault in Virtual PC 7.0.118 Mar 2005 21:45 GMT4
I cannot seem to cancel or quit an application running on Virtual PC
for Mac release 7.0.1 - It is using 100% CPU making response time to
CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-DELETE painfully slow. Trying to use
CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-DELETE (for CTRL-ALT-DELETE) also does not work. Anyone
Virtual PC7 alleged free support18 Mar 2005 20:38 GMT13
Has anyone else faced the problem I have that when I try to get access
to my theoretical free Microsft support on this product, the Microsoft
wesbite insists that my product ID is not valid for the UK.  So in
effect Microsoft are denying me access even to the two free calls which
Unable To Access CD/DVD18 Mar 2005 16:34 GMT2
I have been unable to access my Mac DVD/CD via Windows XP Pro/VPC7 on my Mac
G5 running OSX 10.3.8.  Admittedly, I don't use the function often, but it
was operational a while back.
I can insert a blank disk in the Mac and it shows up in the Finder - normal

I have virtual PC6 for the mac and have purchased the motorola mobile

USB Setting field for the virtual pc6 and is selected.  As a matter of
Virtual PC & Trimble GPS & USB18 Mar 2005 04:52 GMT2
I am trying to get Virtual PC to work with a Trimble GPS receiver I
use. The GPS unit is about five years old and is designed to connect to
a PC via a nine-pin connection to a COM: port. I am running a 1.33GHZ
iBook G4 with 768MB RAM, Virtual PC 7, updated last night, running
VPC and MS Word and Toggle Field Codes17 Mar 2005 21:25 GMT1
Don't know if this is the right group, but I have to start somewhere.
My problem is that I have to have the ability to "Toggle Field Codes"
from within MS Word running under VPC 7.  The company that I work for
has an application that takes information from a MS Access database and
