Start Dock16 Jan 2005 05:31 GMT2
I installed VPC7 with XP Pro in my admin account only to find that I
must do the same in my user accounts.  To minimize time of reinstalling
the OS, I copied the OS from the admin account to the user's home
account.  Everything works, but the Start Dock. I keep getting "You do
Typing the letter "a" in VPC 7 doesn't work15 Jan 2005 23:28 GMT1
For some reason VPC 7 running XP Home will not register the letter "a"
when I type it.  I used my Apple Pro bluetooth keyboard at first, then
I tried my Apple Pro USB keyboard.  Nothing.
Anyone know why this may be happening?
missing additions cd image15 Jan 2005 00:25 GMT3
I have a new copy of VPC 7 (full version from Ofc Pro) and I've
imported a WinXP Pro virtual machine created in VPC 6 on a PC.  WinXP
runs, but it's slow as molasses, so I'm guessing the VPC 7 additions
aren't installed during the import.  Unfortunately, when I select
How do you add programs to Virtual PC v.7?14 Jan 2005 21:23 GMT6
All the instructions I can find, in my literature, on MS' website,
etc., all say something like, "select 'add from CD or Floppy.'" I have
several programs on my Mac G5's hard disk I downloaded ahead of time.
How do I get these programs into my Virtual PC?
resizing old fat16 disk failing14 Jan 2005 21:06 GMT6
Hello people,
Situation:
Had VPC6 running Win2000Pro, albeit slowly.
Got VPC7 upgrade because of promised speed increases.
Killing Viruses in VPC 714 Jan 2005 16:07 GMT9
I've been using McAfee Virus Scan for about a week now with XP Home. No
question that it slows VPC somewhat. I just disable its scan and VPC is
noticably happier with Virus Scan off. I do not think its a
compatibility issue, just the fact that it is a drain on VPC's limited
Select/Deselect Items in List - Windows XP13 Jan 2005 22:46 GMT3
What keystroke combination is used to select/deselect several items in a
list?  Option click gives me one item.  Shift click gives me a group of
items.  How do I deselect one of the items in a group?  If I option click,
it deselects the group and selects the clicked item.  There is ...

virtual pc 7. I am SO confused.13 Jan 2005 21:20 GMT2
I want to play net poker on sites that don't support mac os. So, i
bought Virtual PC 7. But it doesn't appear to have Windows in it? I
have to buy another copy of Windows? Will that at least include IE???
What a nightmare this is. Help!
VPC 7 upgrade vs. VPC 6 CD w XP13 Jan 2005 21:02 GMT3
I recently bought the upgrade to VPC (bringing me to v.7).  I already
own a copy of VPC 6, and that is a 2-CD set with XP home on the 1st
disc.  I installed the VPC 7 upgrade on my new iMac G5 (apparently you
don't need to have VPC 6 installed first) and tried to pull XP off of
VirtualPC and Airport Express13 Jan 2005 20:34 GMT7
I thought I had a working solution for VPC7.01 and OSX10.3 ... By using a
loopback adapter I was able to get a connection to the outside world from
VPC when my only real connection was via Airport Express
However either 10.3.7 or 10.3.8 "fixed" that loophole, and now I can't :(
Does adding more RAM help VPC performance?13 Jan 2005 16:30 GMT8
I'm running XP/VPC7 on my G5 iMac with 1.25GB RAM.
I'm wondering if I will get better performance if I upgrade to 2GB RAM.
Currently, I can only configure VPC to use 512MB of PC Memory. If more
RAM is available I am assuming I'll be able to set it higher.

upgrade. I am
connected to the internet via Airport (via an wireless DSL router at

middle mouse button w/ VPC7...12 Jan 2005 22:55 GMT8
...does it work with somebody? Wheel seems to work but clicking it
does nothing. I have Windows 2000 sp4 installed on VPC7. Hardware is
PB G4 with Panther and the mouse is Kensington Pocketmouse Pro. (Well,
clicking the wheel didn't work with a Logitech one either.)
