More than a year ago I bought Virtual PC 6.1 XP Professional for Mac, because I thought it will work on my G5, and of course it doesn't. I didn't return it because the box was spoiled. I just told myself to wait for the next version.

I just noticed that whenever I have VPC open, the Apple firewall does not seem to work. When I open Sharing-Firewall in Apple Preferences I get an error message that the Apple firewall is not available because another firewall is enabled. Not so. I do NOT have any other firewall

I have VPC 5.0.4 (Connectix) with XP Home installed on a dual 533 G4. I installed VPC 7 upgrade, but after restart, when I look for the VPC 5 to import, the icon is greyed out and I cannot choose it.

When I try to set shared folders in VPC 7, all settings in the right pane of the dialog window are grayed out. The left side says "Not Installed." I did a typical installation. What's wrong? Thanks,

Virtual PC 7.0.1 with win xp pro package on G5 running 10.3.7 is it ok to do the windows updates in the usual fashion.? I have a little shield or something that wants me to do security updates. the first time i did this it hung the emulator hard. can't remember if

All: I just recently picked up Virtual PC 7 yesterday and got it installed onto my G4 Powerbook (15 inch). The PB has 512mb of ram, so I'm pretty sure I met the requirements.

Do I need to load a cd-writing software in Win XP under Virtual PC to write disks? In WinXP normally I don't need to. If I do does anyone have a suggestion as to what to use, if not, anyone know why I can't write a CD in windows?

I recently purchased a copy of VPC 7 that came with a copy of Windows XP Home Edition. I also happen to own an older Dell with Windows 98 SE and I was wondering if anyone here knows if I can upgrade my Dell with the Win XP disk that came with VPC 7. Is this possible?

Ok, I have been reading about optimising VPC 7 and I have a general question. Since I am using the shared network to connect to the internet, do I need to have a PC Virus and Firewall running? I use the standard firewall, Internet Cleanup and VirusBarrier on my OS X side.

My fingers still do Mac-oriented keyboard things. Occasionally, I'll type "command-A" and get a marquee around a VPC window. How do I unselect the contents of the window? There's no menu item nor VPC key combo I can find to do this?
