VPC 7 feels no faster than VPC 631 Dec 2004 20:02 GMT8
I would love to hear what some others think about VPC 7... below are my
thoughts, please feel free to comment!!
I just gave VPC 7 a whirl and I'm not impressed with what the $120
bought me. I had previously been using version 6.1.1 and I have seen
Virtual PC 7 desktop mysteries31 Dec 2004 19:39 GMT1
I recently installed VPC 7 on my g4 powerbook, along with Windows XP.
For a brief while, the desktop looked and behaved like a typical
Windows machine.  Now when I boot up the VPC I am staring at a lovely
green hillside but no menu items for Windows.  No start button at the
7.0 Upgrade Not Working31 Dec 2004 19:31 GMT10
I just installed the Virtual PC 7.0 on my Dual 2Ghz G5 with 2GB RAM.
It installed fine, but I have no Windows operating systems. It asks me to
get them from the VPC 7 disc. Since this is an upgrade, I'm guessing there
aren't any on the PC. Or they are not showing up.
Outlook with CRM31 Dec 2004 15:47 GMT3
I would like to find out if you can use a Powerbook with VPc 7
partition and access a microsoft CRM system on a Microsoft Windows 2003
server.
I need the access to CRM v1.2 but would like to use the powerbook to
Virtual Printer Driver31 Dec 2004 01:23 GMT1
I got a message after installing VPC 7 and trying to use an Epson 2200
as default printer that the print driver in use was newer than the
driver in the virtual printer. Anyone know how to work around this?
Thanks.
How do you get the Mac Serial -> Modem to work in VPC 7????31 Dec 2004 00:04 GMT4
I've tried everything I can think of. The device manager thinks the thing is
working, until of course you try diagnostics on it. Also, Hyperterm can't
seem to talk to it either.
Did this work in VPC 6.1???
Version 7 on partitioned hard drive31 Dec 2004 00:00 GMT2
I recently got a PowerBook G4 which a friend help me set up. We created
a 4.5 GB partition for the Virtual PC since I will use it rarely. When
I went to install it, I got an error message saying it needed to be
installed in the main portion with the Mac operating system. This, of
Garmin Quest30 Dec 2004 11:07 GMT2
Has anyone had any luck connecting a Garmin Quest? I try to capture the
USB device in VPC7, but it cycles through the software and deselects
itself. Never gets far enough for the XP PNP to see it.

Problems with an installer30 Dec 2004 02:50 GMT3
I try to install a Windows application I bought, but it can't be installed
because the installer dies everytime it's started. This happens in Win2K and
XP under VirtualPC 7.0.1 on a G5 Powermac (10.3.7).
From what I heard from the application newsgroup this installer runs fine on
installation problem30 Dec 2004 00:11 GMT1
We have a new 12inch iBook running Mac 0Sx10.3.7 PowerPCG4 and have
installed Virtual PC7.0 on it. We also successfully installed Windows
XP in the VPC.   This is to be used to run my wife's Windows based
software from Pampered Chef.  After the install of the Pampered Chef

Has anyone managed to get this earth browser software working under VPC7.0.1.
it installs ok, but then just hangs on the title loading screen, saying
"initializing"
I suspect it may be due to  direct x and the emulated s3 video card.
14 hours and counting, can't install VPC7.0.1 on a PBG4 1.25ghz with 1gb of memory29 Dec 2004 20:04 GMT8
I likely don't have enough patience to install MS software, but I think
this is a bit much!  I have spent 14 hours today trying unsuccessfully
to install MS Virtual PC 7.0.1 on a 1.25mhz Power Book G4 running
10.3.7 with 1gb of memory and 80gb of free disk space with a full MS
Access to Oracle running on OSX from application running on VPC29 Dec 2004 19:23 GMT3
I am a new user of VPC. I have a couple of products I use which only
run on Windows so I use VPC.  One of these products talks to Oracle
databases. If the Oracle database is on some remote client then
everything works, no problem.
Volume License install29 Dec 2004 18:42 GMT1
Does anyone know if it's possible to embed the VPC7 license key into
the installer, so that I can pretty much have a double-click installer
without having to give my users the license key?
Thanks,
Fujitsu Scansnap  SCANSNAP FI-4110EOX undert Virtual PC 7 Windows XP Pro on G529 Dec 2004 09:40 GMT11
I have purchased the latest Virtual PC version with Windows XP Pro
service pack 2 included and installed this on my Duo 2GHZ G5 Apple
with OS 10.3.6 and 2GHZ of Ram. This all works fine. It is like a
normal PC.
