A complete procedure to reduce your virtual PC disk size15 Oct 2004 20:33 GMT2
Those of you who are using virtual PC 7 will find that windows guest
OS image is much larger than the amount of used space indicated inside
the Windows guest OS. What causes this is that when Windows installs,
it copies a large number of temporary files during the installation
Installing my own copy of XP on VPC15 Oct 2004 20:31 GMT1
I see from the Microsoft website that I can install my "own licensed
copy of Microsoft Windows" in VPC, so that I don't have to buy a new
copy of Windows.  Here's my question:  Can I use a version of XP that
was purchased for another PC?  I assume that I would have to at least

When installing Windows 98 SE, Virtual PC 7 crashes every single time

DOS app funky in VPC 715 Oct 2004 10:02 GMT10
Actually, it's been funky in every incarnation of VPC I ever tried, dating
back to the Connectix days.
Can't go into too may details on the program itself; it's proprietary stuff.
I'll call it "Program X." It was written in QuickBasic and works just dandy
upgrading from Virtual PC 515 Oct 2004 01:07 GMT1
My past experience upgrading from Virtual PC had a separate CD-ROM for
the Virtual PC software and the Windows operating system.  However, my
copy of Virtual PC and Windows XP Pro all came on one disk.  I would
like to upgrade, but Virtual PC 5 will not run on my machine, and I do
VPC 5 on Imac G515 Oct 2004 01:06 GMT1
I just got my new iMac G5 (17",1.8 MHz) and used Setup Assistant to transfer
my files from my old machine. Everything works but VPC. My version is 5.04.
When I try to open the virtual machine it starts to boot and then the app
shuts down. I've tried creating a new one and made sure ...

VPC 7 and Win2K Pro Adv Server ?14 Oct 2004 06:04 GMT3
I plan on buying the standalone version of VPC 7 because I have both

Trouble with Installation14 Oct 2004 01:28 GMT1
I started my install and got to the point where I had to reboot. It
told me to put in Disk 2 which I did and then it said to configure
windows. The black windows window came up and said, reboot or specify
boot disk. (something to that effect. I rebooted with the CD in the

I recently purchased VPC 7, and after playing about with it, I've
managed to get acceptable speed from using it (I have a LCD
iMac/800Mhz/512meg, so VPC6 wasn't too great with WinXP)
I followed the TechExtreme tutorial
