Web conferencing, Webcasts and getting a mic to work and Virtual PC06 Sep 2004 17:21 GMT1
I have eMac 1 ghz and Virtual PC 6.1 (whatever latest upgrade is).
I got this because I am learning forex trading. It works fine with the
trading station software from the broker, no complaints there
(refco.com), but the company I am learning with has a webcast system
Which Guest OS to use on VPC 6.1.1 (or in future VPC 7.0)06 Sep 2004 02:20 GMT1
I am trying to decide which guest OS to run inside of my Virtual PC
6.1.1 on my Mac (Powerbook 1.5ghz).  It would be used for demos of an
enterprise network solution only to run the server for the solution (app
and MySQL). I don't need to run a GUI in that Guest OS since the Mac ...
bought vpc6 with my g5 last year04 Sep 2004 22:31 GMT2
I have had the useless vpc6 since last year when I bought my g5 from
the Apple website. I didn't realize at the time that it wouldn't work
with my computer. Is there anyway that they would send or reduce the
price of the new vpc7 for me. I hate spending that amount of money for
VPC 7 Upgrade04 Sep 2004 18:31 GMT1
I purchased VPC 6 in July, is Microsoft offering an upgrade for this
which does not cost the $99 for someone who purchased version 6 this
close to the upgrade?
Which version of Virtual PC should I choose?04 Sep 2004 18:26 GMT3
I am switching from a PC to a Mac!
I was about to order the Professional Version of Office 2004 because
it included Virtual PC and I would like to run some of my PC
applications (such as Visio, QuickBooks, etc) right on my Mac.
Will virtualpc help me??04 Sep 2004 18:18 GMT8
Hello.  I can tell by the technical language on this board that I'm in
way over my head!  I'm looking for some general advice about whether
virtualpc is likely to address a recurrent problem I have on the
Internet with my iMac.  I teach an on-line course for a program that
Date & Time not working right04 Sep 2004 02:40 GMT4
With VPC 5.0.4 (Windows 2000 Pro), Date & Time has suddenly stopped
working while the PC is in a saved state.
When I start it up from a saved state, the clock starts running from the
time when last saved (the date has also not changed since the last save).
Virus protection03 Sep 2004 23:21 GMT4
I am running Win 2000 with VPC 6.1.1 on OS 10.3.4. I can't get Norton
Internet Security 2004 to install (it won't install with 5.0.4 either.)
Symantec has now informed me that they do not support virtual machines.
Any recommendations for virus and Internet security protection?
How to? Enlarge size of Virtual HD originally set up by VPC 6.1.03 Sep 2004 22:02 GMT3
I cannot seem to find a way to change the size only make it variable
or fixed.  Variable list it as 1.99gb but it actually is much smaller.
Is there a way to enlarge or can I copy to another virtual disk that
is larger?

Could anyone tell me how to set up LAN correctly so that VPC will connect to
my Mac's internet connection?

Mount NTFS formatted drive01 Sep 2004 07:09 GMT1
It seems that you cannot mount an image of the Windows XP drive in VPC
6.1.1 when it has been formated in NTFS.
I was able to do so when I had it as FAT32, but XP runs so much better
in NTFS format.
Speeding up things, can it be done?01 Sep 2004 03:51 GMT5
Well, I've kind of allready asked my question.
My VPC 6 is incredible slow, even when running it with no other applications
running.
I have run the defragment-application, but it doesn't help.
