I have had to recover my W2000 disk from a backup and now have about 18 security updates that need re-applying. I remember one of them cuased a cyclical rebooting problem. Can anyone remember which one I should avoid please?

I just ran visual c+ toolkit on VPC running XP on powerbook G4 & panther on some really simple programs. The compiler runs OK, but all the produced executables cruch on startup. Am I missing something obvious?
