PowerPoint, and occasionally Word and Excel, take typing input and go VERY slowly. It's intermittent. Like 10 characters a minute slow. Type a few words and wait slow.

Recently the toolbars do not show in Powerpoint for Mac 2008.  This is
despite me going to View>Toolbars  or View>Customize Toolbars & Menus.  I
have done resetting as suggested in Help menus.
