Folks. I'm taking a PowerPoint crash course with the PC version. I have
the MS Office X on the Mac. The instructor just showed the class some of
the cool stuff he did on one slide with a lot of animation motion paths.
Couldn't wait to get home and try out some of the animation ...

restart, no option to send MS the information on the crash.  It is just
PPT File Won't Open29 May 2006 20:38 GMT3
Hi Folks. I worked all day on a PPT presentation via MS Office X on Mac
iBook G4. I tested it many times and it ran perfectly. I saved it,
closed it and opened some other PPT files to play with. I then went back
to the org and when I clicked the icon, a dialog box popped up and ...

some time ago, i noticed some files that wouldn't open. back then it
was limited to only files from one CD and one vendor. their tech

about it since i could run them on my PB and that is the computer that
Changing the design of a presentation26 May 2006 22:03 GMT2
I have created a design template for my group. It works well for
creating presentations de novo, but poorly for changing an older
presentation that uses a different design template to conform with my
template.

When I try to insert a video into my Power Point 2002 presentation I get the
following message: "PowerPoint couldn't insert a movie from the selected

properly." What can I do?
PPS file not accessible from server over intranet24 May 2006 04:30 GMT2
I've got a number of .pps files that I need to be accessible from our
school's server  (OS X Server 10.3.9) over the intranet. For some
reason when I click on the links to them I get a web page full of
gobbledigook that I suspect is as close as can be managed to rendering
Arcs of varying angles23 May 2006 17:37 GMT1
When creating an arc, it seems to only allow arcs that cover 90 degrees.  It
can be distorted in any direction, but it remains a 90 degree arc.
Is there a way to specify the size of the arc in degrees?  It's hard to draw
a 45 degree angle and annotate it properly with a 90 degree ...
png problem23 May 2006 01:51 GMT2
I have a presentation that uses png files with transparent backgrounds.
On some versions of PPT for Windows all is as expected. Other versions
give black boxes, obliterating the lower layers, instead of
transparency. It doesn't seem to be old versions of ppt... almost a
Adding audio to Powerpoint for Mac21 May 2006 00:14 GMT3
Is there any way to add a music track to a Ppt presentation so that the
music starts with the first slide and continues through until the last
slide without a break each time a slide moves on to the next one?
I can play e.g. a CD seperately but would like to somehow link the
Word wrap problem Powerpoint 200420 May 2006 19:05 GMT1
I've looked all over for an answer to this, but can't seem to find one.
I do consulting work for a Korean company and regularly get Powerpoint
files written in English, but created in Korean versions of Powerpoint
PC.  When I edit the files, none of the words will wrap correctly in

Will the speed of Mac PowerPoint ever increase?18 May 2006 01:02 GMT9
Faculty member brought me his 124-slide presentation that has a
problem...
In Windows Office 2003 (all patches) -- viewing the slides in "slide
sorter" view takes about 3-5 seconds to display all the slides.
Copying slides to a new presentation16 May 2006 04:14 GMT1
I'm sure this has been covered, but I haven't been able to find a
Mac solution with a search. How do I copy a slide from one presentation
to another while maintaining all of the original slide's properties? I
seem to be able to copy a slide, but it loses the original background,
Marking/highlighting white fonts14 May 2006 15:37 GMT1
Does anyone know if it is possible to change the marking/highlighting
color for textboxes?  When using white fonts in a textbox without
background, the whole box turns white whenever it is worked on, without
any chance to read the words. Only when I give the background some
