We've made a medim sized presentation (60 slides) on powerpoint 2004 for
mac...
At first the whole file would not open - with the error "PowerPoint can'
read <path to file>"

I have about 10 Macs in my lab group, and I'd like to share custom PPT
toolbars amongst all users of those computers.
Is there any way to do this?

I'm experiencing problems in PowerPoint 2004 while opening files; it is
very very slow.
An example to explain it better:
a PowerPoint 2004 file of about 160MB takes about 10 minutes to open (

I lecture biology using PowerPoint, and our textbook publisher is nice
enough to provide media for presentations - like jpegs of text
illustrations as well as animations.
The newest edition of our text provides animations mostly in .swf

Hi - I have seen one other (unresponded) message on this newsgroup
similar to this problem, but I thought I would post my observations to
see if there are workarounds.
I have been experiencing marked slowdowns and hangs in PowerPoint 2004

I've read the Help article about how to set up your settings to show
Presenter Tools on your monitor and the slide show on a data projector.
But in my System Preferences screen I don't have an "Arrangement" tab
under "Displays"...just "Display" and "Color". Am I missing something?

Hi - I just installed office 2004, and I can't do anything in
PowerPoint without getting a font error message: "The M S P (a bunch of
Japanese letters) font is unavailable on your computer, so PowerPoint
substituted another font"..."The M S P (a bunch of Japanese letters)

Probably an old question, but is there any way to have a sound file play
when a slide is opened, but without having the speaker icon present on the
slide?

Hello, I'm dealing with a problem in Office X, PP SP1. I have a presentation
with about 30 slides, with almost all of them containing inserted images. I
didn't create the images, so I can't speak for their format. To my best
knowledge, they are RGB jpegs.

I create a new presentation and it seems to embed asian fonts.  When I give
to a client they get an error message regarding not having the font when
they open the presentation.
When I try to replace the font I get a message that I can't replace a 2 byte

I use a graphing software called IGOR Pro (Windows) to generate graphs
in .emf format for importing to Powerpoint (Windows).  This has been
working well for my Windows Powerpoint.
The problem is, when I do this in the Mac Powerpoint, the filter worked

Is there a tutorial available for PowerPoint? I'd like to learn the
software, but much of the help I've seen seems to presuppose knowledge.

point presentation that I have received in an email?
I have Windows XP home edition.
