Using Powerpoint v.x, I have recently found that when I open the
formatting palette, it opens to a location that appears just below the
edge of my screen (it "genies" down from the menu bar to an unseen
location when opened - "genie" effect proceeds in opposite direction

Okay bit the bullet and bought impatica for powerpoint.
I still have this nagging problem I can figure out and neither can the folks at

Im having trouble opening a file from a educational program that I
bought. The instructions that came with the CD said the files are
PowerPoint driven and that you must have a PC and "one of the many
versions of Powerpoint" installed. "Preferred version is PowerPoint

Once again hit the boards to complain bitterly.
1.  Using ppt 2004 - REMADE many windows talks as video is NOT COMPATIBLE
when I move from ppt 2003 to mac ppt 2004.  EVERY video reinserted and
animations redone.

As I review my powerpoint presentation a black screen appears.  It seems to
be random and doesn't appear after the same slide each time.  Any help will
be appreciated.

This is probably a stupid question, but does anyone know how to insert a
custom text placeholder area on a slide master so that it can be changed on
each slide. It seems like PP only gives you a few choices. I'm on OSX.3.3
using PP v.x release 1. Any help would be great. Thanks,
Playing Flash SWFs & QT in PPT26 Aug 2004 20:08 GMT1
Having a problem playing Flash files (saved as SWFs and Quicktimes) in PPT.
Running Office 2004 on an OSX.3.5 box.
SWFs have to be saved as version 5 (as opposed to 6 or 7) and when the
swfs or quicktimes are imported into powerpoint they play very jumpy, don't

I'm working on Windows XP. My powerpoint crash when I type in my
document the following characters "-->", automaticaly powerpoint
transform these 3 characteres in a special one (right arrow) - that

discovered that my qtvr which use to play in the older version did not play in

I created some presentations in PowerPoint X with some graphs created
in Microsoft Graph.  This was straight forward and all according to
the book.
Then, I changed to Powerpoint 2004, and the texts within the graphs do
