10.4.10 on a MacBook Intel-- problems/workarounds?29 Sep 2007 07:09 GMT20
With 10.4.10 I find that there are two disablities:
1. some DVD disks do not mount.
2. SD disks from either a camera or a reader do not mount.
Any workarounds?

Surround sound with MacBook Pro27 Sep 2007 11:41 GMT3
I have a MacBook Pro Core Due. I've hooked up the optical out to my
DTS decoder, but I can only output stereo audio. My Xbox 360 outputs
5.1 no problem. If I run "Audio MIDI Setup" then select "Configure
speakers", then "Multichannel" The drop down box next to that only has
Conundrum which is baffling me23 Sep 2007 13:33 GMT1
I had a problem which is now solved, by it is still baffling, I want to know
what went on, what went wrong and home I might forestall it in future. Basic

fan won't stop17 Sep 2007 16:24 GMT1
My Macbook Pro 2.2 core 2 duo has been great until I did the latest Pro
Application Support update.  Now the computer runs generally hotter than

Rebooted, reset the SMU, repaired permissions - no change.
Online poll to ask Apple to offer "accidental damage" and "defect-free LCD" warranty options14 Sep 2007 16:19 GMT2
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm really bothered by dead pixels
on LCD screens and would be willing to pay a reasonable extra fee to
be able to exchange an Apple computer in case I got one with a dead
pixel.  I'd also feel more secure if I could get insurance against
Laptop repairs Apple Store vs. Service center05 Sep 2007 23:47 GMT4
My son took a MacBook into his local Apple Store for Apple Care and they
said Apple needs to fix it and sent it in.  He then received a call from
some service center saying that upon further examination there was water
(?) damage and the logic board needed to be repaired for $700 ...
What PowerBook model do I have? M9422? M9676*/A? etc...05 Sep 2007 06:19 GMT3
I just learned that there are certain model numbers for PowerBooks:
M9422, M9676*/A, M9676B/A, M9676CH/A etc.
How do I find out what model number my PowerBook has? The only thing I
know is that it's a PowerBook G4 15-inch Aluminum.
Heating Issues MacBook Pro 17" ?02 Sep 2007 17:36 GMT1
My Laptop is getting realy hot when playing World of WarCraft.
I checked the firmware version and its seems up to date.  (1.18f2)
Is there any chance of damage to the system due to overheating?
The hard drive is also a 7200 RPM which probably runs hot too.
