| USB HDDs and 4 Port USB Hubs | 31 Aug 2007 13:20 GMT | 5 |
Why would a 120GB WD Passport USB drive work fine direct to a USB port of my MacBook Pro yet be unseen when hooked in via a 4 port USB hub although it lights up?

| Thank Goodness for Apple Warranty on New MacBook Pro | 29 Aug 2007 15:41 GMT | 8 |
W-a-a-a, my 2 week old MacBook Pro "blew up" today, DVD drive does not spin up, can't eject that CD I have in the drive. Phoned Apple tech' support, genius there suggested all sorts of things, nothing he suggested worked.

| Why does this happen? (MacBook Q) | 29 Aug 2007 04:32 GMT | 3 |
Sometimes when I close the lid on my MacBook, instead of sleeping as expected, it shuts down and restarts when the lid is opened. This even happens w. a charged battery. Any ideas? Thanks,

| Advice needed about buying a used G4 laptop | 23 Aug 2007 19:49 GMT | 1 |
An elderly relative, who has used Windows in the past, would like a laptop and a wireless broadband connection. I suggested she buys a used Mac of some kind because I believe security would be better (Firefox or Safari rather than Internet Explorer) and the Mac applications she'll

| Santa Rosa? | 19 Aug 2007 16:00 GMT | 10 |
I have been asking Apple about the Santa Rosa chipset, and the response I have had from several people (Apple Store, chatting with an "expert") says specifically that none of their computers have Santa Rosa. Many articles articles and reviews state that the MacBook Pro has had

| Failed hard drive | 18 Aug 2007 04:54 GMT | 3 |
The hard drive on my wife's MacBook crashed the other day, taking with it a lot of important information. First, we were surprised this would happen on a Mac; second, it was less than a year old. The Apple Store we took it to agreed to replace the drive for free (under her Apple

| External Backup Drives | 16 Aug 2007 04:04 GMT | 4 |
So far I have tried two external USB drives, a 120GB WD and a 160GB Seagate, and neither has had anything anywhere remotely close to 480MBPS data transfer for backup. The notebook is a MacBook Pro purchased in July '07. What am I missing here? Is FW400 the only way to go or ...

| PB G4 System/NVRAM battery | 04 Aug 2007 17:23 GMT | 4 |
I think mine has gone. Apple says their part number is 661-3233. Two questions. 1. Where is it in the laptop, or how do you change it? 2. What is the type and number from typical battery manufacturers, if there is one?

I have a g4 ibook that works (better than my 1 gig g4 powerbook). It only has 128 megs ram, a 10 gig hard drive, the 1 gig g4 has a 80 gig hard drive 1 gig memory and a dvd rw. How hard is it to install each of these parts? How do I even get the powerbooks open?

| 2.4Ghz MacBook Pro freezing | 02 Aug 2007 20:37 GMT | 4 |
I never had this problem with my PowerBook, but the MBP will just freeze. The mouse won't move. There is no evidence of any activity taking place. The only solution seems to be to power down and back up. This seems to happen about once or twice a week, and I have only had the ...
