My helpful hint to those new to Mac laptops30 Jul 2007 04:12 GMT4
Ok I get so much help from these groups, and here's one way I think I
can do some good, at least to those new to an Apple laptop.  I've been
using 12" iBooks, and now a 13.3" MacBook, where the screen is
relatively small, right?  And my eyesight's not what it used to be, and
PowerBook battery won't charge30 Jul 2007 01:51 GMT6
Back in June I bought a MacBok Pro and transfered everything from my PB.
Since then the PB won't charge.  The battery, which is relatively new,
won't take any charge at all.  I am wondering if Migration Assistant set
something on the PB that is causing this.  More important, how ...
Defrag27 Jul 2007 08:04 GMT4
I finally bought a MacBook Pro (2.4GHz, 15.4" glossy screen) and got to
wondering about the necessisity of running defrag on my Mac.  A Google
search for articles on the subject produced a number claiming that this
was unnecessary on a Mac.  Is this correct or do I need to look ...

What to do: Pismo screen's turning pink18 Jul 2007 03:53 GMT3
I've been seeing pink irregular streaks horizontally on my 400mhz
Pismo's screen for a few months. They're sort of like cirrus clouds, and
while they don't make text illegible or seriously screw up images,
they're an annoyance. With Safari's window up behind MT-Newswatcher's,
Amazing picture of Apple Computer's iMAC with Transparent Screen.08 Jul 2007 23:39 GMT1
This is too costly to be commercially available but is worth just
looking at it.

dead trackpad06 Jul 2007 17:06 GMT2
Well, my trackpad (ibook g4, two years old) has gone as of yesterday.
Gone most of the time. If I push real hard on the edge or tap hard on it
the response comes back for a while.
I'm using my trackball for now, but it is supposed to stay with the mac

Ti hinges/adjust02 Jul 2007 17:40 GMT1
I need to adjust the hinges on my Titanium G4.  I think there are
instruction for doing that process on the Net.  Does anyone have the
address or instruction to adjust the hinges on a Titanium?

Clamshell iBook inverter02 Jul 2007 08:10 GMT4
I recently acquired an old 300MHz Tangerine clamshell iBook from a
friend at work.
Other than a dead display, which appears to be suffering from a blown
inverter, it's ready to play. (Well, it's going to play Linux, once it
