I have an iBook 500 MHz G3 that ran without problems until last week. Now when I press the power-on button, nothing happens at all (no sounds, no light, no noises), even when pressing for 10 seconds. The battery is full.

Whenever I reboot or power up my iBook (OS 10.4.8, 900MHz G3, 512MB RAM), it literally took about 5 minutes to reboot before I finally can use it. Enabling the verbose mode does not give it a clue because the first 4 minutes of it is just a lit up screen with the Apple logo and

my (about two year old) battery for my PBG3 Pismo goes from 100% to 70% and then drops to 0%! It charges normally from 0% to 100% in a linear fashion. Any ideas about the drop? Karl.
