One of my friend has his pismo sounding strange at startup; it bells
three times and then nothing ....
What's the meaning of this ?

ibook G4 won't startup.
1. It goes to a grey screen
2. or it shows a folder with a question mark
3. When I insert the Mac OS X CD, "disk Utility" doesn't see the Hard

I have a PowerBook G4 with a Matshita DVD-R UJ-815.  It has suddenly
stopped accepting discs.  If you insert a disc, it makes the usual read
noises, then if sort of clunks and kicks out the disk.  This happens
with CD or DVD, blank or written.

Anyone else experiencing the battery going dead while supposedly in
sleep mode.  I'll unplug my laptop at the end of the day and head for
home.  Several hours later I wake it up and find that the battery is run
down.  

I bought a last generation Titanium Powerbook (the 1 GHz Model) in
November 2002. While it's still very usable, I think now is a good
time to replace it (in particular since there will be a 3% sales tax
hike in Germany at the end of the year).

I have a powerbook G4 with a single 512MB memory chip.  I would like to
upgrade my memory.
I was wondering if I can buy a 1GB chip for the second slot, or do I
need to have matching size chips in each slot?

Hey all...   I got a 200 gig HD this morning from Staples, with rebates
for $19.99.  The reason I stood out there at 5:45 a.m. was to get this
deal so I could back up the hard drive on my MacBook laptop.  I
partitioned the drive into 3 equal parts, one formatted for start up,

I just put an original Airport card in a Pismo. It seems  to be working
fine under OS 10.3.9, but not under 9.2.2
I believe this computer and card came out before OS X so should work.
Any suggestions?

A vendor told me that the MacBook/MacBookPro's are shipped without Image
Restore disc and do not allow the user to create his own Image Restore
disc. So you would need to send the 'Book to AppleCare for restoring the
system ...
