Wondering if anyone can offer some insight on what's been happening with

400mhz, 512mb RAM, OS 10.2.8, bought used about 6 months ago...

Maybe it's my imagination...
One keypress on my sleeping mac, and I used to hear the SuperDrive and
the screen came right up.
A few weeks ago, I started getting a blink... the screen came on, then

OK, my Lombard/400 was not holding date/time (kept getting the
startup warning "Your Macintosh's clock is set to a year before 1973...).
So I ordered and installed a brand new parm battery, set the control
panel, and it's *still* not holding the date/time (same startup mesage).

Somebody suggested applying Apple's Battery Update 1.1.  I tried it but
got the message that it cannot be installed on my powerBook G4 because
it is "not necessary."
Meanwhile, the problem continues.

My PowerBook G4 (aluminum) battery, which hasn't given me trouble so far (but
see below), today suddenly won't charge beyond 57%.  I tried resetting PRAM
and resetting PMU, but neither seemed to do anything.  Is there anything else
that I can/should do?  Suggestions would be greatly ...

I've got a nasty hinge break on my TiBook 667 Mhz. It's the top half of
the right hinge and it's cracked so that stuff that used to be inside
the casing of the LCD/Lid is now pulled out and broken.
