Apple supply problems??30 Aug 2006 12:27 GMT1
I recently ordered a new MacBook; it was listed as a 3-day delivery,
because I'd asked for an enhanced spec.
Yesterday - a week after placing the order - I got an email from Apple
saying delivery would be delayed by another three weeks. When I called
ipod: "do not disconnect" for hours29 Aug 2006 16:59 GMT1
I have a problem with my ipod: It said "do not disconnect" for a very
long time. iTunes said "no ipod connected". So I unplugged the ipod.
But it kept saying "do not disconnect". Next morning the battery was
empty from displaying the "do not disconnect" screen all night. I
PB charger stops working29 Aug 2006 04:46 GMT4
I leave my G4 PB 17" plugged in most of the time most days.
Sometimes I notice (usually from the "low battery" warning) that it
had not only stopped charging, but stopped using AC power altogether!
The (previously green) light in the connector is turned off, and I've

how to keep a Titanium PowerBook awake?26 Aug 2006 10:07 GMT1
If I have an external monitor attached to my Titanium PowerBook, then I can
keep it awake even if the lid is closed.
What if I remove the monitor but want to keep the lid closed.  Then how can I
keep it awake?

Page up/page down for iPod24 Aug 2006 20:39 GMT1
With 60Gb of storage on my iPod, I end up with a lot of
titles/artists/albums to scroll through.
It's frustrating to have to spin the wheel about a zillion times to get
from "A' to "Z".  A simple "page down"/"page up" feature would be a
Battery usage timer?23 Aug 2006 19:50 GMT3
Is there a battery usage timer application available that can tell me
how long my iBook has been running off the battery?
All the battery monitory utilities I've downloaded only tell me
how much estimated time is left on the battery, not how much time
HELP....S.O.S23 Aug 2006 06:19 GMT1
I have a 15" Titanium G4 powerbook for about 3 years and a half now and
one of the hinges is broken. At first I brought it to the Apple store
and they told me that they had to change the entire screen which is
gonna cost me close to $900 or a grand. I thought I could live with a

Any ideas about the life-expectancy of a 2002 Titanium PowerBook which...
(i) is always on
(ii) always has the lid closed [using an external monitor]
(iii) always uses an external Firewire drive and the internal drive is
Exploding laptops18 Aug 2006 05:32 GMT21
Dell is recalling more than four million laptop computers because the
battery might explode. Good heavens. Who needs terrorists? But it gets
worse, because several other companies, including Apple, use the same
type of battery. Apple says they are investigating to see if there is a
MacBook I-sight issue10 Aug 2006 16:15 GMT3
I got a MacBook about a couple of months ago and I love it....
however...  I have some issue with the built in I-sight camera and
wonder if it is my individual problem or if others are experiencing the
same.  I have a Logitec USB web cam that really works well.  Even if
