Powerbook won't start - is two years+ its lifetime?30 Apr 2006 06:42 GMT5
Short story: After using my G4 for less than three years, usually 3
hours a day, it seems to be on its death bed. Is this normal?
Long story: I used it a lot with imovie and idvd creating movie
reviews, burning to DVD. For that past year it has been mostly just
Mac Book Pro - DoA, takes 14 days to get replacement :-(30 Apr 2006 01:02 GMT11
My new 15" Mac Book Pro shows a hardware error as reported by Apple
Hardware Test. This can happen.
I called Apple Service. After 30 Minutes on the phone, third person ...
everything went ok: they'll collect it via TNT, and send me a new one.
Mac and Headset27 Apr 2006 19:28 GMT2
I own a ibook G4 laptop and just bought a new USB headset with
microphone from Logitech. I use Skype to talk to my family members and
friends. Without the headset, my ibook G4 works just fine because it
has the build-in microphone and speaker. The problems is when I plug in
iBook screen salvage25 Apr 2006 22:24 GMT2
A group of which I am a member recently acquired an iBook G3, only to
find that it doesn't work.  However, the screen seems to be intact.
How can we attach the screen to an arbitrary video source, for example
a basic desktop?

Frozen cursor woes, OS 10.3.924 Apr 2006 06:38 GMT4
I recently updated an aging Icebook to 10.3.9. Since then, it's been
plagued by the dread Frozen Cursor, which locks up the whole machine,
and can only be 'cured' (temporarily) by a forced restart. Which is a
pain.
Poor airport reception (Nov. 2005 G4 Powerbook)24 Apr 2006 01:34 GMT6
I haven't really paid much attention to this problem until recently as
this is my first laptop, and first encounter with wireless Internet
access as well, so I thought wireless simply was crap.
But having recently compared with other people using the same networks

My HD is really becoming full... can I replace it with a larger one ?
PowerBook G4/667 "Gigabit Ethernet", came with a 30GB HD (there was an

Traveling with an iBook22 Apr 2006 17:05 GMT7
I just bought a used iBook G3 (600mHz I think - don't have it with me
at the mo') with 60GB harddrive and 1MB RAM running Tiger.  I've quit
my job and will be taking a year off to travel and intend to use it for
email, blogging, booking flights, hotels, etc so i think the G3 will be
Adaptec 1480 SlimSCSI on 10.4?21 Apr 2006 10:23 GMT7

card? I don't remember using it under Tiger, and now when I need it, it
doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?
Best regards
USB or Firewire speaker question21 Apr 2006 01:02 GMT2
I'm extremely interested in switching to a MacBook or some other Apple
portable...  but I've hit a snag.  I can't seem to find any method
other than a PCI card for connecting my Logitech 5.1 speaker system.
Please let me know if you're aware of a solution to my surround sound

Can I move my new PB 17" drive (120 GB ST9120821A)

Powerbook G4 or MacBook Pro or wait - need one soon18 Apr 2006 18:19 GMT30
After my 17" G4 Powerbook has been stolen, I need a replacement within
one month latest (arriving) I should say.
Switching to Intel I'd loose Classic (FrameMaker), Final Cut Express
(temporarily?) and Virtual PC (but there is dual boot -
iBook Battery Not Charging18 Apr 2006 03:02 GMT2
iBook G4/800 12
The main symptom is the battery icon (and energy saver) flashes back and
forth between the battery and adapter when the adapter is plugged in.
The battery won't charge more than a few minutes and the iBook won't run
