Ibook touchpad not sensitive!16 Mar 2006 14:40 GMT2
I have a new 12" iBook that I got through the Apple web site a month
ago--I'm very pleased with everything except the touchpad.  It isn't nearly
as quick and sensitive as the touchpad on my Dell laptop.  I have the
touchpad and "click" settings as "fast" as I think I'm able to set ...

G4 iBook ram upgrade?15 Mar 2006 02:48 GMT1
wondering if it's worth the money to upgrade my G4 ibook from the 512mb
to 1.5gb? Will I noticed a performance increase? I typically use
photoshop/illustrator/dreamweaver type applications. No gaming or video
editing. any opinions appreciated. thanks!
Looking for good Airport Alternative15 Mar 2006 01:30 GMT6
I'm getting a used Powerbook 667 mhz G4. I don't want to spend the money
on an Airport extreme card and would like to buy an 802.11g PC card. My
wife has a good Asante AL5403-XG card that seems to be discontinued (got
it for $15 on TigerDirect). Does anyone have any experience ...
Airport and Linksys14 Mar 2006 23:55 GMT11
I am using a linksys wireless B router and trying to get it
to link up with my MacBook through the Airport link. I get the
network name, but when I try to configure i get something about
being unable to establish network connection.  Works fine when I
Airport in battery woes14 Mar 2006 19:46 GMT8
Likewise an older poster here (Jan 2006 it seems) I have a very very
odd problem with my iBook. When at home, with my horrible d-link di-514
wireless router, if I disconnect the power source from my iBook, data
stops transfering between my iBook and the router suddenly, the
iBook G4 CD/DVD Drive Upgrade14 Mar 2006 04:20 GMT3
I purchased a iBook G4 12" in June 2005 with a standard combo drive.
Although I am wondering whether or not it would now be possible to
send the iBook to Apple and have them possibly upgrade it from combo
or a superdrive. When i first ordered the iBook a superdrive was an
USB Modem for Macbook11 Mar 2006 21:15 GMT4
I am thinking about either a MacBook or Powerbook.  I travel
and still find myself using a dial-up connection from time to time.
How hard is the USB Modem to set-up with the MacBook since MB
doesn't come with an internal modem.
can't eject CD from PowerBook11 Mar 2006 09:41 GMT8
Made a bootable CD with iDefrag on it.  Defragged successfully but
after rebooting the computer can't get the CD to eject. (The system
definitely booted from the internal hardd rive rather than the CD.) The
drive makes all the usual sounds that it makes when it's going to eject
Dumb emac Restore DVDs question08 Mar 2006 17:41 GMT1
I recently upgraded an aging Icebook to OS 10.3.9, on the advice of
several posters to csmp. Thanks, guys -- it went pretty smoothly, and
the machine is *much* faster and more responsive.
I bought a copy of OS 10.3.3 on 2 DVDs, originally intended for an eMac.
Replaced HD in PB 17 now it's dead08 Mar 2006 12:00 GMT7
Tonight I did a HD replacement on my PB 17" as the old drive had died
(wouldn't boot even in target mode, gave an i/o error etc). I followed
the guide from www.ifixit.com. I put in a Samsung 80 gig 5400rpm drive
with 8 meg cache, bought it from a PC store.
iBook G4 black screen and whirring fan08 Mar 2006 03:34 GMT1
I bought a 1.2Ghz iBook in November of 2004. All of the sudden today it
died. I was going to work so I closed the lid and it went into sleep
mode. When I opened it up at work it just gave me a black screen so I
held down the power button and restarted it. It stayed on for about 5
Powerboog G4 12" hangs on boot06 Mar 2006 15:46 GMT3
Hello all...
I'm a kind of newbie in Mac OS X, so apologize if I'm asking something I
should know... :-)
Yesterday my wife's PowerBook G4 12" running Mac OS X 10.4.5 crashed
